For all types of horses and riders we have more than 10 different hackamore scissor sets. We will explain the biggest differences:

A wheel or star hackamore is the lightest version of the hackamore, offering various settings to attach the reins. The gap between the chin and cheekpieces provides a side-pull effect, the first hole next to the chin strap offers a light lever action, and the subsequent holes provide increasing leverage. With a wide noseband and proper placement on the horse's head, this can be a comfortable bridle for everyday training.

The longer the scissors, the more pressure is applied to the nose and chin. Long barco and baroque scissors are less ideal for dressage, as they maintain constant rein pressure. However, with a gentle hand or double reins, this can still provide a refined setup, enabling subtle aids.
